Another day

Another article I need to find: “The Rhetoric of Circumstance in Autobiography” by Andrew Kaplan in Rhetorica Feb 1992, Vol. 10, No. 1: 71–98. I have to buy it to view it online. D’oh. Or I can read it for free here in the library. Damnit.

So what have I done over the past week? Not much. Not much at all. Snow days, watching movies with Dave, watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Dave, hanging out with Dave, taking way too long to read a 64 page text that probably isn’t useful at all to my diss (thanks E.W. Harrington), yet I could not help but continue to read the text all the way through, just in case. Argh. . .

I would like to have 30-35 pages of text before I meet with Kate, whenever that meeting takes place. I wonder if it will ever happen.

On the bright side, 13 of my students agreed to be interviewed. On the down side, I now actually have to do those interviews. I need to get on that yesterday. Why can’t this chapter finish itself? Why can’t all my chapters finish themselves? I don’t know if I can do. Abby can do it. Wioleta can do it. I’m pretty sure everybody I know here at Miami can do it. Except me. Dammit.
